The North American Preclearance and Safety System (NorPass) is a not- for- profit partnership of state agencies and the motor carrier industry dedicated to promoting safe and efficient trucking by deploying mainline screening systems in Kentucky, Georgia, Idaho, Utah, Washington, Connecticut, Minnesota, Oregon, Virginia, Maryland, and North Carolina. The use of transponder technology, gives carriers and owner/operators the ability to bypass weigh stations in these states.
